The voice of Alberta's franchised new vehicle dealers

As the voice of Alberta’s franchised new vehicle dealers, MDA strives to represent our members’ interests while fostering positive relationships with government, industry, suppliers, education institutions, consumers and the media.

We are not only the voice of Alberta’s new vehicle dealers, we are also its eyes and ears, ensuring our members are informed of the significant initiatives, events and trends of legislators, regulators, manufacturers, industry and consumers.

MDA is a member of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association. MDA also enjoys the support of many Associate Members who share our members’ goal of a fair and thriving automotive marketplace.

Advancing the best interests of our members

To promote and advance the best interests of Alberta’s franchised new vehicle dealers and the customers they serve.

Representing the industry to the provincial  government, serving as an information resource to consumers and the media, promoting professionalism with specialized training programs and awarding scholarships to Albertans pursuing automotive careers are just some of the ways we fulfill that purpose.

OUR HISTORY

Providing meaningful representation for over 70 years

MDA was formed in 1951 by a small number of dealers to work toward their common goals. Over the years, MDA members have collaborated on a variety of issues and projects—from lobbying for seatbelt legislation to raising millions of dollars for charity and scholarships.
